C'era una volta un tiranno. Non c'è nulla che esemplifichi meglio della questione nordcoreana la traiettoria dell'amministrazione Bush in politica estera. Da membro ad honorem dell'asse del male ad interlocutore al tavolo delle trattative sul nucleare: difficile conciliare il discorso sull'espansione della democrazia come antidoto all'insicurezza globale con questa ritirata precipitosa in nome del cosiddetto realismo politico. Pyongyang ha tradito ancora una volta i suoi impegni - ovviamente - ma a Washington hanno solo miele da distribuire - ultimamente -. Chi non è ostaggio del pensiero debole della diplomazia da salotto buono è John Bolton che si incarica di ricordare con chi abbiamo a che fare:

It would also help put the spotlight back on China, which has the real economic leverage to force a change in North Korea's nuclear policy, if it chose to exert it. E' significativo nell'articolo di Bolton l'uso del termine realista con un significato opposto a quello che ci viene comunemente venduto. Bush è stanco e si vede. |
